The inaugural prospectus for the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design is unveiled, and applications are now being accepted, it was announced today by Susie Forbes, Principal of the College.

The first fee paying course available for students from January 2013 will be the ten-week Vogue Fashion Certificate, and then the year-long Vogue Fashion Foundation Diploma will begin in October 2013.  These strongly vocational courses will establish the College as an important launch pad for those with ambitions to be the industry stars of tomorrow.

We believe we have created a unique educational offering that, with its strong vocational bias, will arm a whole new generation of students with the skill and capability to pursue a successful career in the fashion industry. Our alumni will leave the college with not only a vastly improved understanding of how the fashion industry works but also a significantly more informed idea about which part of the business they might like to work in, and a greatly improved chance of attaining that goal,” Susie Forbes comments.

The Vogue Fashion Certificate is designed to offer a uniquely intensive grounding in all aspects of this exciting and innovative industry.  The Vogue Fashion Foundation Diploma is diagnostic in its approach, and aims to enhance students’ creative, business and communication skills within the context of the wider fashion industry.  While both courses are extremely creative, it is not the aim of the College to teach students how to be fashion designers, but instead to cover all aspects of the industry including the complex workings of the international fashion calendar, styling and art direction, brand marketing and the all-important retail sector, from luxury to high street.  All classes will have a global sensibility.

Starting later in 2013 the Condé Nast College will also offer a range of short courses in the evening and at weekends.  Short summer courses will also be offered during the month of July and August.  Further detail on these opportunities will be confirmed later this Autumn.

Based in London, one of the world’s great creative capitals, the College will offer a leading edge learning environment, with an “anywhere, anytime” approach.  In addition to formal teaching, inspirational practical sessions, an exciting programme of seminars, outside visits to designer’s studios and talks from industry leaders, the College will exploit the full potential of the latest educational technology systems.
