Disney Unveils Muppets-Inspired Fashion Range
Including fashion designer Giles Deacon’s exclusive design for Miss Piggy’s red carpet look
To mark the release of the much anticipated Muppets movie on February 10th 2012, Disney has launched a fabulous Muppets-inspired range including fashion and beauty products. The range features products for Muppets fans of all ages, designed in collaboration with a host of leading brands including Jerome C. Rousseau, nOir and M·A·C Cosmetics. Products span couture fashions and apparel, accessories, beauty, and toys, embodying the personalities and characteristics of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal, Gonzo and other favourite characters.

In addition to the private screening of the new Muppets movie, today the designs for an exclusive dress created by Giles Deacon for Miss Piggy to wear to the Muppets London premiere on January 26th will be revealed. Based on a stunning dress from his Spring/Summer 2011 collection, the dress is made of silver leather, with hand cut leather-fringing flowing down the front and back and laser cut detailing on and round the collar and hem. Embroidered with Swarovski Elements, the dress will ensure Miss Piggy has an extra sparkle on the red carpet.
Fashion designer Giles Deacon said: “I’m honoured to be asked to design a dress for such an iconic character and am excited to see Miss Piggy showcase my creation on the red carpet. Miss Piggy has been a fashion inspiration for many years so I thought long and hard about the finest way to bring out her best features. I feel certain that Miss Piggy will be a natural in the spotlight and hope my dress helps her to start the night in style.”
