HENDRICK’S GIN AND THE ADVENTURISTS PRESENTS A GLOBAL SERIES OF AFTERNOON TEAS WITH A LEGEND OF ADVENTURE
Hendrick’s Gin and The Adventurists have teamed up to bring a quintessentially British occasion to the world Afternoon Tea with a Legend of Adventure. The super premium gin and group of fellow intrepid explorers have joined forces to host a series of the most curious and adventuresome events, starting with an Afternoon Tea boasting Sir Chay Blyth – one of modern historys greatest ocean adventurers – as headline speaker.
Exotic teas will be flown in from the far corners of the world the finest homemade cakes will be sourced and taste-tested, the most eccentric and entertaining of butlers will be gathered together, and Hendrick’s will be concocting the most tantalising libations with their cucumber and rose petal infused gin all the vital ingredients for what will be the world’s best afternoon teas.
A different Legend of Adventure will come to each of these eccentric teas to tell their esteemed tales of exploration and adventure. Intrepid yachtsman, Sir Chay Blyth will be taking the helm at the first event, which will take place on the 5th of February at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London. Before rowing across the Atlantic in 1966 with Captain John Ridgeway his only sea-going experience was a channel crossing by steamer. Before he boarded a yacht to take part in the first ever round the world yacht race in 1968, he didn’t even know how to sail so he taught himself along the way. In 1971 he became the first person to sail single-handed and non-stop around the world against the prevailing winds and currents. Sir Chay Blyth is without doubt a legend of adventure. The Observer newspaper once wrote of Chay that no other British seaman in history has made such a widespread reputation without the use of gunfire. If you consider yourself an audacious adventurer, a consummate quaffer, an inquisitive individual and a lover of all things eccentric then you won’ want to miss out on these events and the chance to meet fellow-minded adventurers over a Hendrick’s Gin and Tonic accompanied by a cake or cucumber sandwich.
