KATY PERRY PERFUME LAUNCH
Yesterday, BSF was invited to the Katy Perry fragrance launch party at the Circus Club in Covent Garden. A small group of media had the luxury of attending the pre-launch as we ate pink cupcakes and drank the most delicious smoothies at 10am. The 26 year old Fireworks singer dazzled the cameras in her purple Mui Mui dress and explained the concept behind the perfume.
Ms Perry made no secret of the fact that she loves perfume and admitted owning over 50 different fragrances, and has always been vocal about wanting to create a perfume which has a distinctive smell and is different to others in the marketplace. The perfume called Purrs was designed after her fond love for her cat, Kitty Purry, and all things feline. Katy carried this theme through with both the name and bottle for the new scent, and has created a fragrance which personifies the cute, sexy, and uniqueness of the pop singer. You can certainly see her fun, playful, personality shine through the design and stated that she has had a lot of creative input from the start.
"I've been involved in everything to an annoying point. I sketched this bottle design on some hotel paper in New York and I've been overly, compulsively and obsessively in charge of it since" – she said as she cheekily smiled over at her management, who laughed back. The perfume range will launch in two sizes, a 50ml and 100ml: Eau De Parfum Spray 50ml RRP £37.50 Eau De Parfum Spray 100ml RRP £51.00Â and will be available at Selfridges nationwide.
