LUCIA VAN DER POST TO HOST WINTER LITERATI Â BOOK CLUB AT GROSVENOR HOUSE, A JW MARRIOTT HOTEL

Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel, is delighted to announce that Lucia van der Post will be hosting this winter’s Literati – The Grosvenor House Book Club – on Thursday 2nd December.

Get prepared for the festive season in style as Lucia, known as the fairy godmother of style and luxury, presents ‘Celebrate: The Art of the Special Occasion’ which contains a wealth of inspiration and practical advice on how to make the most of any special occasion. It will provide a unique opportunity to gain first hand tips of how to fête creatively and create fun, stylish and memorable occasions to suit all budgets from Lucia. The event will commence from 6.30pm with cocktails and canapés inspired by the book.
Having spent twenty-six years as editor (and founding editor) of the ‘How to Spend It’ section of the Financial Times, Lucia van der Post has become one of Europe’s most respected commentators on both style and luxury, and her debut book ‘Things I Wish My Mother Had Told Me’ was a bestseller in the UK.
Taking the traditional book club idea one step further, Grosvenor House has collaborated with leading publishing house Hodder & Stoughton on the Literati book club. Rather than just bringing people together to discuss a book, Literati hosts a regular stream of authors who lead a discussion of their latest book with hotel and external residents. Â Since having launched in January, the impressive line-up has included the first lady of broadcast journalism, Kate Adie, much-admired author and radio presenter Libby Purves, and Natasha Solomons presenting her debut novel in her quest to break the world record for most book events attended by an author in a year.
The event will take place from 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start, with tickets priced at £20 which includes a copy of the book, welcome drinks and canapés. To book a place or to find all the latest information on upcoming Literati events held at Grosvenor House, please visit the newly-launched Literati Book Club website www.grosvenorhouseliterati.co.uk,  email literati@marriotthotels.com or call +44 (0) 207 499 6363.
