MACDONALD HOTEL SPA REVIEW

Melt Away At MacDonald Hotel And Spa

There’s nothing quite like indulging ones self in some spa pampering, last Thursday I decided to switch off my phone and dissolve away at the Macdonald Hotel And Spa courtesy of the lovely Spa Company PR.

The Vital- Health and wellbeing club delivers an assortment of first-rate treatments and luxury sanctuary to unwind and escape the stressful deeds of city life. The hotel and spa is situated next to Piccadilly train station and a stone throw away from the main city center shopping areas, making it the ideal location for a spot of Christmas shopping before or after a day of indulging.

The Spa

The moment I had ambled into the spa the noise from the hectic city had evaporated and had all been replaced with a much peaceful tranquil atmosphere and soothing décor, the aroma of the scented candles strokes my senses as I walked into the main reception area which is positioned on the second floor.

There’s a great selection of wet and dry facilities from thermal suites with rock saunas, salt infusion therapies with salt mist, cold rooms, aroma steam rooms and infra-red saunas, so I practically spoilt for choice.

The Treatments

I had decided to try out a duo treatment and picked the face and body sensation. After brief consultation from one of the specialist therapist. I had informed her I have been experiencing a lot of dryness to my face due to the harsh Manchester weather conditions this winter, my therapist Abbey recommended an re-hydrating and anti-ageing combined treatment.

Massage Hot Rocks

She started off with a deep cleanse using a balancing lime blossom based cleaner, followed by a balancing (heavenly scented) lavender toner and papaya enzyme peel. She had used pro collagen advanced eye treatment on my eye area to reduce the appearance of the dark lines around my eye area. This was followed with the elemis hydra balance day cream.

She finished my experience off with a thermal –soothing massage; to relieve stress tension and ease an aching muscle which is said induced a deep level of relaxation and to calm the mind, concentrating on the shoulder area and lower back with hot rocks.

Summary

I’m not sure if the facial removed a few years away with the anti ageing treatment but my skin unquestionably felt more hydrated and amazingly soft to the touch.  The vital-heath and wellbeing spa definitely left me feeling peaceful and relax and priced at only £65 for 55mins I will certainly be paying the venue another visit.

– All spa experiences include bathrobe and towel, unlimited use of the Spa area, including relaxation suite, and all the other facilities that the spa has to offer.
