Like your favourite Aunt that spoiled you rotten when she came for her yearly visit, Rumfest is back again over the weekend of 13th and 14th October for its sixth year of nonstop alcohol fuelled fun and games.
For those unfamiliar with Rumfest, it is the world’s first annual Rum festival based in the Excel arena in London, and features over 400 of the best, rare, and unusual cane based spirits from the most exotic locations around the globe. As well as the delicious drinks, the event also features live music, carnival costumes, exotic foods and such a vibrant atmosphere that you actually start to believe you are on a beach in the Caribbean (minus the weather and sand obviously).
After tickets for Rumfest 2011 sold out in record time, the organisers have decided to move the show to the Excel arena in East London; so with a larger space available, the drinks, music and foods are set to be bigger than ever before. Even if rum is not the first choice when stood at the bar, rum is such a diverse spirit that there really is something for everyone, whether that be a Jamaican Strawberry Daiquiri or a 25 year old single barrel Guatemalan sipping rum.
