Okay I have to admit I have read all the Stephanie Mayer books on the Twilight novels..twice! And dragged my boyfriend kicking and screaming to the Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse movies while trying to convert him into reading the books. This ended in him resenting the very sight of Robert Patterson (I can’t even bring myself to quoting what he actually calls the film as I have a lot of young readers).
However the male population, fear not, as your time is near. 25th March 2011 to be exact as this brings back the era of the male dominated films. The type of movie you can hold your head up high whilst queuing for tickets. Â Sucker Punch launches in the UK next year and has already developed a cult following prior to it’s release date and was a huge hit when the trailer was shown for the first time at Comic Con. The movie directed and written by Zack Snyder and Steve Shibuya shows a young girl (Emily Browning) institutionalized by her wicked stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility. The movie has the perfect concoction of girls, kick ass ninja moves, evil Nazi’s, dragons, and huge guns. I have a feeling this is going to be a hit with the ladies too, so don’t get too comfortable guys, the girlfriends still might want to tag along.
