Three Musketeers Premiere
Written by Lord Jason Scott // November 06, 2011 // Film and Theatre

Orlando Bloom, Milla Jovovich and some other very lovely ladies attended the famously male – dominated story of the Three Musketeers. The event was held at West London’s Westfield shopping centre, and normally this Lord of The Premier’s does not like to leave his beloved Leicester square but for these many stars it was time for a scene change. And the scene did not disappoint.
First to blow me away was none other than the film adaptation’s leading lady Milla Jovovich who put the sparkle in the star, she brought some glamour to the World premiere of the 3D movie in London. The Ukrainian-born actress, 35, was there with her husband Paul WS Anderson – who directed the film. If you read my tweets (@penthouselondon) you would know that I was very jealous of the auteur as she was simply stunning in a sexy split-to-the thigh Salvatore Ferragamo gown, which she teamed with a pair of towering Christian Louboutin peep-toe heels and silver clutch ( I know my editor would have fainted right there and then). And on the subject of tweets ahead of the premiere, she tweeted: ‘One more interview and then it’s time to get ready 4 the “3 musketeers” premiere! Ooooh! I’m getting butterflies!!!’
While there was no doubt Jovovich was, the jewel in the crown of this premiere, it was Hollyoakes star Gemma Merna and The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe Sims who took my breath away but for very different reasons. Gemma Merna looked sexy in a transparent blouse and pencil skirt combination, but it was her own “Hollyoakes” that had all the boys begging for 3D specs – (See pictures) and Chloe looked chic if not a little scary next to the men who’s surname is part of the TV show title, Joey and Frankie Essex.
Now I would be shot by all those Take That fans if I did not mention that Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Gary “X Factor” Barlow were in attendance. Sadly no Robbie or Jason, but the crowds did not seem to mind with Merna admitting she was thrilled to be in the same room as her idol Gary Barlow, whose band Take That wrote and recorded the official theme tune “When We Were Young”. She tweeted: “I have the biggest crush on Gary Barlow! He is gorgeous!! At Westfield to watch 3 Musketeers 3D.”
And while on the subject of men who steal hearts, Orlando Bloom, who plays the dastardly Duke of Buckingham, got his “bead” on while walking the longest red carpet in London and had to run away from all the crazy ladies that had flown half way around the globe to see him. Sadly his own woman, model wife Miranda Kerr was not there to protect him as she was busy at Paris Fashion Week. Of course as we are Blood, Sweat and Fashion, I thought it wise to let you know that he wore a stylish black suit. When I asked him what he based his character on (A suave, well dressed member of Royal aristocracy) I was hoping he would say me! Sadly he said, “Paul wanted to base these characters on Rockstars which gave me the chance to channel David Bowie in this film!” .
The very cute, but could be a hobbit in the next film Logan Lerman, who plays the headstrong D’Artagnan, was there and made all the fans under 17 scream like they were in a Justin Bieber concert.
My favourite of The Three Musketeers was of course Ray Stevenson, who plays Porthos, a true pirate who made me laugh in the press pit as he made the ladies swoon and the men quake to get a closer look at the ultimate rogue of the trio, or is that quartet?
Who were those others that attended that may not have got a mention as I could not remove my eyes from Milla Jovovich. Mathew Macfadye, Luke Evans and stunning Brit newcomer Gabriella Wilde, who plays D’Artagnan’s love interest (Please, Karl Pilkington has more of a shot at joining MENSA) showed off her stunning physique in a red maxi dress with peep-hole neckline.
And what of the film, you ask? although this new 3D film, adapted from Alexandre Dumas’ 19th century novel, sees D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers set out to defend the Queen’s honour and protect France from war, it really is the costumes and flying ships that will have you ooohing and aaaaaaghing.
The rest…well you come here for the word behind the velvet rope and the skinny on all things fashion so I will let you tell me what you think of the film. J
