TK MAXX A/W COLLECTION

My name is Hanna and I am a TK Maxx-aholic…

If I said that out loud a few years ago I would have cringed at the very thought, as it was often seen as a faux pas to be seen in my local store in Manchester.  It was where cast out designer clothes were laid to rest and I would often walk pass and feel pity for the shoppers battling their way through the scattered out of season clothes bins.  Oh how my views have changed, and I remember the exact day I strolled into the store and brought a brand new iPad 32 GB on sale for £399, I almost floated to the till, since then it’s been like a relationship which has matured with time. so you can image my excitement when I got an invitation to view their A/W collection.

TK Maxx held a dinner party in Tom’s Kitchen situated in Somerset House, on the eve of London Fashion Week, the perfect setting to showcase any A/W 2012 collection.  A small group of publishers were invited to see the new campaign before it hit the stores and as we sat down to dinner, we were guided through the collection.  The collection focuses on the key trends for 2012; Military; Modernist; Pastels; Bourgeois; Empress; and my favourite, English Hertiage, yes the tweed is back for winter!

The ad campaign focuses on capturing ordinary people on the streets draped stylishly in the trends from the new collection, with the proud slogan “Love your style, Respect your money”, which certainly captures the brands philosophy.  I was very impressed with the quality of the fabrics, especially the heavy knit houndstooth cardigan from the Folklore collection.  It would definitely keep one warm and cosy on the coldest of winter nights, and at the affordable price of £34.99, you can’t go wrong.  As well as their own fashionable labels, TK Maxx also do a section called the Gold Label, which covers everything from Vivienne Westwood, to Versace and even Christian Dior at amazing prices.  And guess what?  They are all this season’s trends. And I can’t get enough.
